Our entry into the eMobility era is a key pillar of our “GreenFuture” sustainability strategy. Under that strategy, we have set specific environmental targets for our products and vehicle production. One example is the 30% reduction in our fleet’s CO_2 emissions between 2015 and 2025. The transformation from combustion engines to electric cars is an essential lever for this.

The most convenient way to charge the batteries of your all-electric or plug-in hybrid ŠKODA is by hooking them up at home overnight. You can simply plug the car directly into your 230-volt household socket.

With the broad adoption of eMobility, the infrastructure for the operation of electrified vehicles is growing day by day. So you can choose from hundreds of public charging stations to recharge your car when parking on the street, doing your shopping, or even the whole time you’re at work. PHEV vehicles do not require or allow fast charging, so look out for the standard charging stations around your city.

The spacious luggage compartment that we have come to expect of Škoda’s remains standard for the brand’s electrified iV models. For example, the flagship Superb iV’s estate version offers a cool 510 litres, so it can cope with the whole family’s needs.
Battery technology
Our electric iV models feature state-of-the-art Li-ion battery technology with the highest possible energy density, developed with safety as our highest priority. Our Battery Management System ensures optimal performance over thousands of charging cycles.
Battery electric vehicle (BEV)
Battery electric vehicles rely solely on electric motors for propulsion. They derive their electricity primarily from charging points and store it in battery packs. The key benefits of electric vehicles are that they emit no emissions, they run silently, offer nimble dynamics, and servicing them is not so complex.
Plug-in hybrid (PHEV)
What makes plug-in hybrid vehicles different from BEVs is that they combine a classic internal combustion engine with an electric motor which can be recharged from an electrical outlet. The PHEV can be driven in pure electric mode, but the range is limited to 50 to 60 kilometres. The result is low fuel consumption and a quiet electric drive, especially around the city.
