Under the bonnet, the 1.5 TSI evo2 tuned to 130 kW delivers eager thrust across a broad 1,500–4,000 rpm band, providing effortless pace in everyday driving.
The DSG is calibrated for engagement: higher kickdown thresholds in D and S, later upshifts under harder acceleration, rev-matching on S downshifts and optimised torque smoothing between ratios – even the 3→2 shift under braking is sharpened.

In typical Škoda style, the Fabia’s boot also offers hugely practical features. Items can be secured in the boot with a cargo fastener. Just slide your boxes and shopping bags, for example, so that they are sandwiched between the side of the boot and the fastener. This will stop them from sliding around. The cargo fastener can be folded away and stored in the boot floor.

Front assist with predictive pedestrian protection
The front assist is a collision-alert safety system. Faced with an unavoidable collision, it applies the brakes to minimise the consequences. It also performs an emergency stop if a pedestrian or cyclist dangerously attempts to cross the path of the car.

Driver alert (fatigue detection)
Driver alert reduces the risk of a fatigue-induced emergency. By monitoring driver behaviour, the system assesses the degree of driver fatigue and, if necessary, warns of the need for a rest and break in the journey.

Side assist
Thanks to two radar sensors at the rear of the car, the Side Assist detects vehicles approaching from behind or that are in the car's blind spot. The driver is informed of this using an LED signal on the inside of the wing mirror housings. Side Assist can detect vehicles up to 70 m away and thus also effectively warns the driver of hazardous situations on motorways and dual carriageways.

Park distance control with manoeuvre assist
The system warns of the potential risk of colliding with obstacles during parking by drawing data from the sensors, the driving parameters, and the steering wheel angle. To avoid those parking situations where you don't brake in time in response to the distance alerts, the Fabia incorporates Manoeuvre Assist, a feature that stops the car to avoid collision.

Rain-light assist
The Fabia is fitted with a rain and light sensor to automatically activate and control the speed of the wipers. The light sensor activates the car’s lights automatically when the intensity of ambient light falls below a specified value (for example when driving through a tunnel or at dusk).

Rear-view camera with washer
Providing you with comfort and orientation during a parking procedure, the Rear-view camera uses a camera located on the fifth door handle. Combined with Škoda infotainments, the system uses their displays to show the space behind the car and to indicate the driving line, based on the vehicle width.

Hill start assist
The hill start assist (HSA) allows for easy hill starts without the risk of unwanted backward roll or the need to use the handbrake. When you release the brake pedal after stopping on a hill, the HSA keeps the pressure in the brake system for 1 or 2 seconds, enough time for you to set off.

Front and rear parking sensors
Parking the Fabia is easy due to its excellent manoeuvrability. What is more, you can be assisted by parking sensors integrated in the rear and front bumper, which check the car’s distance from any obstacles. Front parking sensors are optional.

KESSY
Open or close the door, start or stop the engine, all without having to search for your key? That is the comfort provided by the KESSY system. Simply pull the door handle and the vehicle will unlock automatically. Start the car by pushing the button located to the right of the steering column.
